The Alberta Advanced Driving School, a joint activity of the Northern and Southern Alberta BMW Clubs, is run completely by volunteers.
AADS will be running three events at the Race City track this year:
- Instructors Clinic on April 16
- 2 day Driving School on May 27 & 28
- Ladies Only Driving School on July 16
Each school needs about a dozen volunteers (not counting instructors) to operate smoothly. Volunteers are need for each event for the following:
- A month or two before each event - arrange for catered lunches, track marshals, EMTs & Ambulance
- On the first morning of each event - 12 volunteers to greet the students, direct them to parking and help the Registrar get everyone signed in
- All day - 8 volunteers to keep the coffee fresh and reset the cones during slalom & skid pad exercises.
Who volunteers? Is one of these descriptions you?
- Past participants of the schools, who want to express their thanks in a tangible way.
- Before committing to spend your hard earned money to become a student you want to see what our driving schools are all about.
- Friend and/or loved ones of our instructors and students.
If you are interesting in helping everyone walk away with a big smile at the end of each event, please contact Glen Cook (Volunteer Coordinator) who has detailed descriptions of the duties of the various roles that he is only too willing to share.
