Alison Poole Novice Run Group Driving a BMW 325i "Whenever anyone asks me about the Alberta Advanced Driving School, the first thing I say is, 'I have never in my life had so much fun!' This is a very well organized and well thought out program. You are looked after from the moment you arrive until the time you hesitantly drag yourself to your car and leave the Race City gates. I made some wonderful new friends, became reacquainted with an old one, had a few good laughs, ate superb food and last but not least really learned the capabilities of my 'Ultimate Driving Machine'. It can handle whatever I dish out and then some. The instructors are first rate wonderful folks and are there every step of the way to make sure you learn by doing. I look forward to taking the intermediate level course next spring and in the meantime will tackle the Winter Driving Course." |

"Until I attended the BMW Advanced Driving School in Calgary, I'd autocrossed a bit but had never been out on a road course. The school was unquestionably one of the best driving experiences in my recent memory. It was well-run and lived up to its reputation."
"Like many BMW owners, I really enjoy driving and am not reluctant to push my car to its limits. This school redefined those limits, allowing me to explore handling dynamics at the edge. Like everyone else, I was paired with an instructor for all my roadcourse driving, and in addition to giving me loads of great tips and advice, he kept me safe at the relatively high speeds we attained. It was comforting to know that each car out there with me during lapping sessions also had a qualified instructor on-board, ensuring that all passes were safe and that driving discipline was maintained throughout. As the weekend progressed I became smoother and faster. Although I have lots more to learn, I really felt I had attained my goal for this weekend."
"Yes, it was challenging and I was exhausted at the end of each day, but I enjoyed myself every minute. And I got to meet a bunch of great people with similar interests to my own. The only unanswered question at the end of the weekend, 'When can I do this again?'"

"At my first school, instructor Rob Wallace calmed my early nerves about being on a track, taught me how to be smooth and the importance of keeping the car balanced, kept pointing out the best line around the corners, talked about how to practice skills legally the rest of the year, and guided me to higher speeds and better driving around the track. I was hooked."
"Finding and staying at some of the car's limits is what I learned from Richard Cove at my second school. I began to feel like I “got it”, and graduating to solo driving was naturally a thrill. At my third and fourth schools this past season, I learned from Nels Sherman and John Rudolf how to become more consistent, push harder still, and reach higher speeds by the end of the straights."
"The BMW school is all about learning and having fun, with excellent class time, low speed exercises to understand the balance of the car, and track time with great instructors. Too bad it can’t be held every month."
